Hey, everyone! I recently purchased some items from
Born Pretty. They are a store that sells jewelry, hair accessories, nail art, clothing, and more, at pretty cheap prices. They ship from Hong Kong, so it takes a while to get to the US.
I ordered four items from them on June 15, it shipped by June 20, and I got the items on July 8, 3.5 weeks after it was shipped. So, if you do order from them, make sure you do it ahead of time for any events!
When I opened the tightly wrapped package, I noticed that there were only 3 out of the 4 items that I ordered. I was annoyed at first. I created a ticket and told them about the missing item. I was waiting for an email notification saying that they responded, but it turns out that there is no notification of response, you just have to check the ticket now and again. They said that they sent the copper ear cuff in a different package on July 1, and I received it the last week of July I think.
Okay, back to these items. I first opened my knuckle ring. I picked out the basic silver one.
It was a little big. I'm not sure what size it is, but it fit on my pointer finger okay, still kinda loose.
The next item was the skeleton ear cuff I got in black.
It was a little hard to figure out how to get on my ear, but I found it out with some finagling.
It looked cool off my ear, but it was hard to see the skull when it was on my ear. The skull faced upward, not to the side, and you couldn't move it to face a different way.
Next were the rhinestone earrings.
They were very nice and shiny looking. When I got it, one was missing a white jewel thing, but it was in the bag it came in. Later, one fell off the other one. I didn't want to go through the hassle of waiting for another pair, so I just glued on the tiny jewels, and it looked fine afterward.
I was worried a bit that they were going to be clip-ons because I couldn't really see the back from the pictures online. But they weren't and I'm glad! It was just a clip to hold the earring on your ear along with a post.
Next is the cuff. It arrived very similarly to the previous items, tightly wrapped and safely packaged. The cuff did look very antique-y and cool, but it was hard to put on my ear. I could bend it a little and had to to make sure it didn't squish my ear.
The cuff has an earring insert at the bottom, so only people with an ear piercing hole can wear it. I have three piercings in each ear, and I put it in the second hole in the picture below. When I tried to put it in my first earring hole, it really squished my ear.
Overall, I had an okay experience with Born Pretty Store. At first, my annoyance about the missing item overshadowed all good feelings. I think that you get what you pay for. The items may not be the best quality, but it is a cheap price. Besides the two little jewels falling off, the rhinestone earrings were very pretty looking.
But I'm not sure I will wear any of these things on a regular basis. I will reserve the rhinestone earrings to fancy occasions, but I don't think I will wear the antique ear cuff ever because it didn't fit right. The skull ear cuff and arrow ring are more for daily use, but the skull isn't really my style so I don't think I will wear it much.
I do suggest you check out the Born Pretty Store though. They do have a huge variety of items with lots of reviews for most of them. I say just use your better judgement before picking an item.
